Stunning New Villas Added To Travel A
La Carte's Programme On Paxos
7 January 2011 by Tony Wells
The
island of Paxos is the heart of Greek island specialist Travel à la
carte’s programme and for the 2011 season the company is nearly doubling
its number of holiday villas on this tiny jewel of the Ionian.
Foremost among the new additions are Erato, Kleio and Thalia, three
brand new state-of- the-art villas in one of the most enviable locations
on Paxos. Built in an elevated position in the grounds of the old Manor
House on the edge of picturesque Loggos, these villas – named after
three Greek muses - enjoy some of the most stunning sea views in the
Ionian. And unlike comparable villas elsewhere on Paxos or in Greece,
where guests have to rely on a car to reach the beach or the nearest
restaurant, these new villas – each of which has its own private pool –
are within a ten minute walk of two beautiful beaches and all the
amenities of the village.
Complementing these properties is a range of other additions to the
company’s Paxos programme. Travel à la carte has been recognised for
over 25 years as offering high quality, good value holiday accommodation
backed up by the highest levels of customer service and while the three
new villas named after the Muses may be the last word in modern villa
design, they still share the principles which have guided the company in
all its villa choices over the years. They are in a quiet location on
the edge of the olive groves, close to a traditional Greek village, and
in an undeveloped corner of an island that has barely altered since
holidaymakers first arrived there in the 1970s.
Our other new properties for 2011 fit the same mould. Three-bedroom
family villa Hortensia has a large garden and pool, and is a short walk
both to Loggos and the two nearest beaches; Katina – perfect for couples
- is a traditional cottage sitting above the second closest beach to
Loggos, as quiet as can be and with lovely sea views; Prinos is another
newly completed villa in the village of Magazia, a mile from Loggos,
with a panoramic vista across the Ionian to the mainland; and the
Country House is a charmingly quaint Paxiot home in the most peaceful of
rural locations, now with its own pool and a large shady garden. With
this mix of old and new, up to the minute and traditional, Travel à la
carte continues to offer its clients a fascinating range of
accommodation in the most relaxing and welcoming of holiday
destinations.
Travel à la carte’s Paxos villa rental prices start from £320 for a week
in an apartment for two in Loggos in early May, and rise to £3,049 for a
week in luxurious Erato villa in August. Travel à la carte also offers a
full meet & greet service, including all transfers between Corfu airport
and Paxos, from £75 per person for a party of four.
