Villa
Prospero is a newly built luxury villa occupying a commanding position
on Paxos’s north coast between Lakka and Loggos. Sleeping eight with a
private swimming pool, the house is set in an area of terraced olive
groves spanning 3,800 square metres, from the northern end of which a
footpath provides direct access to Glyfada Beach and Bay. The house and
grounds both afford fine views across the sea to Corfu, the Straits and
mainland Greece, with the beautiful mountains of Epirus as a backdrop.
The House:
Designed as a family home for the owners and their adult children, Villa
Prospero has been built and finished to a very high standard by the
local builder and structural engineer.
The
accommodation comprises upper and lower ground floors and has four
bedrooms. Through the front door there is an open plan living space
with kitchen/dining area at the back of the house and lounge with
fireplace to the front; four double bedrooms, each with en suite
bathroom, three with ‘walk in’ wardrobes and dressing rooms. All
bedrooms and living room have double French doors with shutters opening
onto either the upper balcony, running the entire width of the building,
or the lower terrace, each with exquisite views of the sea and beyond.
Inside and to the right of the front door, internal stairs lead down to
a utility/laundry area where there is also a separate toilet. From the
upper balcony there are external steps which lead down to the lower
terrace with ‘outside’ kitchen, garden area and swimming pool (10 metres
x 6 metres).
Furnishing and Equipment:
A fitted kitchen comprising stainless steel sink and drainer with under
work-top dishwasher (eight place setting), cooker with gas hob and
electric oven and microwave oven, fridge freezer and breakfast bar. It
is fully equipped with all kitchen/dining paraphernalia and under
wall-unit lights and extractor fan with hood. There is a circular pine
dining table and accompanying chairs to seat eight.
The
lounge area has two leather sofas, chairs, coffee table, occasional
table and lamp, book shelf, fireplace, with wall lights and modern
chandelier. A dvd player, tv, I-pod docking station and cd player are
provided.

laundry basket; one has a walk-in wardrobe/dressing room; en suite
shower room, with toilet, wash hand basin and shaver point; the other
has an open-fronted wardrobe in the bedroom and en suite walk-in shower
room, as before. A cot is available with bedding provided.
Laundry room:

necessary laundry equipment; downstairs toilet.

on the larger, lower terrace there are four rattan steamers, a ‘Rattan
type’ all weather circular table with eight matching chairs and cushions
and two large folding umbrellas with solid, onyx-like bases. Throughout
the property, there are outside wall lights on the house with light
sensors to the front door and side of house and on the stairs and by

sun loungers, umbrellas and an outside shower. Whirligig washing line

All
windows and French doors have shutters, integral mosquito netting
(except the living-room French doors) with bedrooms having translucent
curtaining for privacy.
To
facilitate eight people, there are three sets of:- white Egyptian
cotton bed-linen for each bed, bath and hand towels as well as beach
towels. There is a blanket and bedspread for each bed. The king size
bed has a canopy frame with mosquito net drapes.
Nearest Village: LOGGOS
Prospero is close to the village of Loggos - about 15 minutes walk.
"Loggos is the smallest of the three main villages on Paxos,
an enchanting, graceful old fishing port on the northeast coast. With its pastel-shaded
buildings huddled around the harbour, it combines relative remoteness with an adequate
range of facilities, providing an idyllic centre for holidays throughout the season."
