Set
in a broad clearing among the peaceful olive groves of northern Paxos,
Koukla is a comfortable two-bedroom villa which has been wonderfully
restored by its Italian owners. The house, its gardens and spacious pool
area enjoy a high degree of privacy, with only one other villa nearby
(owned by the same Italian family) and the restful location is matched
by some magical views over the sea to the Greek mainland.
Inside, the property is a traditional two-bedroom villa, with a small
kitchen (with dishwasher) and dining area and a comfortable, elegantly furnished living
room, now equipped with satellite TV and wifi. But Koukla is a villa
where much of the living goes on outside. In the garden to the side of
the house is an al fresco dining area with table and chairs, an outdoor
kitchen and barbecue, and a large outdoor lounge, while on a lower
level, below the house, is a generous swimming pool surrounded by
stone-flagged terraces. Here you can swim at leisure, soak up the sun on
a sunbed or, if you are feeling more energetic, take up the challenge of
the table tennis table.
Koukla’s location in the hamlet of
Manessatika on the road to
Kastinida means it is just a short
drive from the two main coastal villages of Loggos and Lakka and a
string of quiet beaches between, while the nearest shops are in the
little village of Magazia, a few minutes away in the car.
