HALKI VILLAS
ASIMINA & YORGOS

Halkivillas is a family run business, with two houses on the island
which are available for rent. As well as during the popular summer
season our properties are also available in the off season months, which
gives you a chance to experience a very different Halki and learn
something more about real life on a small Greek island.
Our
two houses take their names from their owners, Asimina and Yorgos
Hatzigiannakis, a brother and sister already well known to many regular
visitors. Their presence on the island makes renting Villa Asimina and
Villa Yorgo a very different experience from staying in accommodation
cared for by people other than the owners. We are always available for
help and information, and that wonderful Greek pastime of setting the
world to rights over a coffee or glass of something stronger. We take
special pride in our houses and we welcome our visitors hoping that they
will begin to feel part of the local community.
ASIMINA
Villa Asimina is a traditional stonework house built in about 1830 by
Asimina's great grandparents. It has now been lovingly restored to
maintain its traditional aspects but combining them with more modern
features. The house consists of a large kitchen, a living room, two
bedrooms and a bathroom.
Location:
Villa Asimina is situated on the hillside which surrounds the natural
amphitheatre of Halki harbour and is near to Villa Yorgos. It has superb
views down to the harbour and beyond to the islands of Alimnia and
Rhodes from its balcony, and is only 5 minutes walk from the harbour
side, and 10 minutes walk to the 2 main beaches of Halki Pondamos and
Ftenagia. Villa Asimina has a twice weekly maid service.
Accommodation:
The house is entered via its own small private patio (without view). Two
front doors then open to the inside. One leads into the hallway, which
itself has double doors at its far end leading onto a small balcony with
seating for two. The other door opens into the kitchen, which is fully
fitted with fridge freezer, separate cooker and table and chairs for
casual eating.
The
double bedroom has a traditional four poster bed, while the second
bedroom has twin beds. Both rooms are accessed via the hallway. The
large and airy living room can be reached from the kitchen or the hall.
It is furnished simply with a traditional style upright couch and table
with chairs. The bathroom was completely refurbished two years ago and
has a full-size bath as well as shower.
YORGOS
Villa Yorgos is a beautifully finished, well-equipped modern house
located in a traditional setting just nearby to Villa Asimina. This is a
superb holiday home, family-run, and offering you an authentic Greek
environment with all modcons! Villa Yorgos has a twice weekly maid
service.
Location:
Villa Yorgo is only 10 minutes walk to the 2 main beaches of Halki,
Pondamos and Ftenagia, and less than 5 minutes down to the shops, bars
and tavernas on the harbourside.
The
house is situated on the hillside which surrounds the natural
amphitheatre of Halki harbour, set amongst the picturesque layers of
buildings which make up the village. It has superb views down to the
harbour and beyond to the islands of Alimnia and Rhodes from its 2 main
terraces.
Accommodation:
Inside the house comprises of a kitchen/living room, 2 bedrooms and a
bathroom. The kitchen is very well-equipped, has modern fittings, and a
large fridge freezer and separate cooker. The 2 bedrooms consist of 1
double and 1 twin. The twin bedroom is up fairly steep stairs, but the
views from its balcony are worth the climb! The double bedroom is light
and airy, and also has a terrace opening out from double doors. There is
another balcony outside the front door. The bathroom is modern and
contains a bath as well as a shower.
