The
new luxury villa Erato, a private two-bedroomed property with its own
pool, occupies a magnificent elevated position on the edge of the
village of Loggos. The views from the terraces, windows and pool area
are breathtaking, extending as they do over the Paxos coast and all the
way across the Ionian to the mainland.
One
of three new villas constructed on land belonging to the Manor House, an
old family house overlooking the entrance to Loggos bay, Erato is
probably the pick of the three, with larger private areas to the
southern side and larger terraces round the pool.
The
villa is reached from its own separate car park below and by the flight
of steps to the front, and the entrance is to the side of the property.
The front door leads directly into a large living-room which, while
equipped with all amenities, is designed and furnished in a way that
creates a free and open feel. The front of the room takes the form of
sliding picture windows and French doors which both lead onto the
terrace and display the stunning views across the Ionian which all the
villa’s rooms and terraces enjoy.
There
is also a
state-of-the-art, fully fitted kitchen, with windows looking out on to
the trees and flowerbeds behind. Also from the rear of the main room, a
staircase leads up to the first floor and the two bedrooms.
Here, the views to the front are even more spectacular, and there can
hardly be a villa in Greece in which you can wake to such a stunning
prospect. Each of the bedrooms has its own ensuite bathroom as well as
air-conditioning and a private balcony with table and chairs.
The
outside areas at Erato match the quality of the interior. To the front
of the villa is a spacious, sea-facing terrace with wooden
furniture for al fresco dining, while to the southern side of the house,
up a few steps, is the swimming pool area with comfortable sunbeds, sun
umbrellas and gardens. Safety railings for small children.
Access to Erato is from the road below, the lane that leads down into
Loggos from Fontana, and
with
the elevated position of the villa you need to be aware that there are
steps up to the house and they are quite steep. However, a car is certainly not needed to reach either the beach
or the nearby tavernas, with Levrechio and Marmari beaches respectively
four and ten minutes’ walk away and the village shops and tavernas five
minutes on foot in the other direction.

It is about a 4 minute walk to Levrekio Beach with its taverna and a
further 5 minutes walk will bring you to Marmari
beach a very pretty option along the coast.
