FONTANA, PAXOS Fontana is by far the smallest of the villages on Paxos and is situated on the road from Gaios to Loggos. It is a pretty village with no real signs of the 21st century (or even the 20th), which is one of its main attractions.
It has some lovely walks and buildings, and is worth exploring. It is also well situated for discovering the island in general, as it is fairly central and there are roads or tracks from the village leading down to the nearby beaches. Kaki Langada, one of the most popular of beaches on Paxos, is just a short drive away down the new road that leads past the reservoir to Gaios and the New Port. Fontana is also the home of a popular traditional taverna and one of the new ouzeries - bars serving light meals - which have been revived lately on the island.
