More of Paxos in 2010Specialist villa holiday company Travel à la carte’s expansion for 2010 concentrates on tiny Paxos, a haven of tranquillity in the Ionian Sea an hour’s boat ride from Corfu. To its core of long-standing favourite villas and apartments in and around Loggos, the prettiest and quietest of the coastal villages, we have added a range of superb new properties, from private cottages for couples to luxurious family villas sleeping up to eight. These additions to our portfolio double our presence on Paxos and put us among the top two or three companies operating on the island. The difference on Paxos in 2010 is that our new properties have been built to order and so offer levels of comfort and amenity that couldn’t always be taken for granted in Greece. So Villa Daneve, an enchanting cottage for two just above Loggos, has a large sea-facing terrace outside complementing the smart modern kitchen and comfortably furnished sitting room in the interior. Like most of Travel à la carte’s smaller properties, Daneve is also just a short walk to both the tavernas and the beach - so the car can be dispensed with. At the other end of the scale, Villa Prospero is a brand new luxury villa occupying a wonderful vantage point on the north coast between Loggos and Lakka. The exceptional interior space is matched by two broad terraces outside, onto which all the bedrooms and the living room open out, enjoying exquisite views of the sea and beyond. Cars are needed here to reach the seaside tavernas of Loggos and Lakka but not for the sea, which lies within easy walking distance. If the walk to the sea is a step too far, just dive into the superb infinity pool at the end of the lower terrace. Our highly competitive prices start at £540 at Villa Daneve and £2160 at Villa Prospero for a week in May. In August a week’s stay will cost £1436 and £6000 respectively. There are discounts for early bookers. The prices given are for the accommodation including all usual services.
